Dr. Jeffrey Day is a 1990 graduate of the
Buffalo School of Dental medicine. Following graduation,
he entered a general practice residency at Portsmouth
Naval Hospital in Virginia. He continued to serve as a
navy dentist for another five years before resigning his
commission in 1996. Dr. Day and his family have lived in
the area since 1993 and in August of 1996 opened his
practice in the Lee Hill Professional Center. Dr. Day
practiced in that location until January of 2007, when
he moved his practice to its current location at Hilltop
Plaza on the corner of Leavells and Courthouse roads.
The move in January of 2007 was also a merging of
practices. Dr. Day merged his practice with Dr. Peter
Scelfo, a prominent dentist who has been practicing in
the Sposylvania area since 1985.
Jeff and his wife Tracy have 2 daughters, Chelsea and
Lindsay and one son Andrew. The family enjoys soccer,
sailing, water skiing and swimming. In his free time,
Dr. Day enjoys computer technology, golf and both
coaching and playing soccer. Since Dr. Day believes in
helping others in our community, he donates his skills
to several community dental programs such as the Moss
Free Clinic, Fredericksburg Regional Head Start, Donated
Dental Services program and the Association of Retarded
Citizens state health program.
Through the years, Dr. Day has made a commitment to
continuing his dental education. He has developed a
philosophy of "comprehensive dental care" with the
emphasis on information and service to the patient. Dr.
Day believes by doing this, he will be up to date with
information for his patient’s care and will increase his
dental knowledge as new products and procedures are
developed. In his most recent pursuit of continuing
education, Dr. Day has spent 3 years attending seminars
and workshops at The Seattle Institute for Advanced
Dental Education.
Dr. Day is a member of the following organizations:
-
American Dental Association
-
Academy of General Dentistry
-
Virginia Dental Association
-
Commonwealth Study Club
-
Rappahannock Valley Dental Society
